Flying to Malaga
Malaga Drilling School…. only a short flight away.Finding an internationally recognised Drilling School that is easily accessible and well located for combining study with a holiday break is no longer a frustrating task. Malaga is one of Europe’s busiest airports, used by over 12 million passengers annually. In response to the increasing numbers of tourists, business travellers and resident expats travelling to Malaga in recent years, an extension to the airport, to facilitate doubling the amount of incoming air traffic was started in 2006 and there are a vast number of direct, scheduled and chartered flights to Malaga available from numerous travel agents, tour operators and airlines. For rig personnel, flying to Malaga has never been easier or more affordable. Online booking has removed the need and expense of travel agencies and tour operators and also made it incredibly easy to avail of cheap flight offers.
Competition between travel agents and airlines keeps the price of airline tickets to Malaga very reasonable in comparison to the expenses incurred in getting to many other Drilling School locations around the world. As tourism is such a major part of the region’s industry and Well Control classes at Malaga Drilling School are held all year around, off- season flights can also be booked at exceptionally low prices. |
Flights to Malaga…finding the best deal.
If you book your course at the Malaga Drilling School well in advance, it is worth comparing the pros and cons of both chartered flights; most commonly booked by travel agencies and tour operators as part of an entire holiday package deal… and scheduled flights; which for the single, more flexible traveller, can be very economical if you are willing to book all the elements of a personalised holiday independently
Be aware that the Costa del Sol covers a very large area and therefore it is not advisable to book accommodation without first checking that the location is within reachable distance of the Drilling School.
Also useful to bear in mind for delegates planning to book a scheduled flight over the internet is that airlines publicly announce all their changes in fares for the week on a Tuesday between 12 midnight and 1a.m. If you plan on spending additional holidaying time in Malaga before or after your Well Control Course, being prepared to travel mid week instead of weekends or take flights during unsociable hours can also make for considerable savings for the traveller.
Malaga Airport is located about 6km west of Malaga city, just off the main coastal road (N340) and the new toll road, which is usually a much less congested option, especially in the summer months, running to Estepona.
When leaving the airport by car, and approaching the N340, the left hand lane which takes you across the flyover, goes to Malaga, Granada, Motril, Nerja and eastern Costa del Sol, whereas the right hand lane takes you west to Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona, Sotogrande, Gibraltar, Cadiz etc.
